It uses Launch X431 software but it is very unclear what the relationship with Launch is. Launch X431 software is very capable & good but like all other diagnostic software it has blind spots. The other thing is the cost rapidly increases if you need more than one manufacturer. If you need a few vehicle brands with bi-directional actuation look at the Lauch Diagun X431 includes 2 year free updates on a very wide range of manufactures.
If only want to cover two or three vehicle brands and don't need don't need bi-directional control also look as the Autel AP200. Which is an excellent tool but not bi-directional,
Other alternatives include the iCarSoft range.
